Shattered Dreams
Like pieces of a looking glass,
I lie shattered on the ground.
Picking up strange shadows,
But there is no one around.

I'm not needed in this condition,
I'm not perfect anymore.
Life has left me battle scarred,
My dreams they are no more.

I can be sharp to the touch now,
So no one dares to try.
I never meant to end up this way,
I meant to smile instead of cry.

Like a mirror I reflect the present,
Though I also saw the past.
Reminding all who look here,
Nothing is meant to last.
